You Don't Have to Do It All: Homeschooling Through a Major Life Change
Coming Soon
I’m working on this one now. Check back soon for the full story.
9. Create a “Phone Parking Lot”
This one might be more for Mom than the kids.
Put your phone somewhere outside the homeschool area during your first academic block.
Because we've all done it.
You check one text.
Then email.
Then Instagram.
Then somehow you're watching a video about something completely unrelated while your child is sitting there waiting for you.
Your phone doesn't have to disappear all day.
Just create a protected period when your attention belongs to your kids.
10. Prep Your Freezer Before Fall Gets Busy
Homeschool doesn't end when the school books close.
There's still dinner.
And laundry.
And appointments.
And activities.
And approximately 47 questions about what's for dinner.
A few freezer meals can make busy homeschool weeks considerably easier.
Try preparing:
Taco meat
Soups
Muffins
Breakfast burritos
Meatballs
Casseroles
Shredded chicken
Your future self will be grateful.
